Deadpool 3 Teaser Trailer: Everything You Need to Know

Deadpool 3 Teaser Trailer: Everything You Need to Know

The Super Bowl 2024 was not only a thrilling spectacle of sports, but also a feast for the eyes of Marvel fans. Among the many trailers that aired during the event, one of the most anticipated ones was the first look at Deadpool 3, officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine. The film marks the debut of the Merc with a Mouth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and finally brings in the clawed mutant Wolverine. Here are some of the highlights and details from the teaser trailer that you may have missed or want to know more about.

The Time Variance Authority

The trailer begins with a scene of Deadpool celebrating his birthday with his friends from the previous films, such as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Colossus, Blind Al, and Dopinder. However, their party is crashed by agents of the Time Variance Authority, or TVA for short. The TVA is a mysterious organization that monitors and regulates the flow of time and the multiverse, and was first introduced in the Disney+ series Loki. They apparently have an interest in Deadpool, and take him to their headquarters, where he meets a new character named Paradox, played by Matthew Macfadyen.

Paradox explains to Deadpool that he is special, and that he has a chance to be a hero among heroes. He shows him clips of the Avengers and other MCU events, and tells him that the fate of the multiverse is at stake.

Deadpool & Wolverine

The most exciting part of the trailer, however, is the reveal of Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine. Jackman has played the iconic role of the adamantium-clawed mutant nine times before, and supposedly retired from it after the critically acclaimed Logan in 2017. However, fans have been clamoring for him to reprise the role and team up with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, especially after the hilarious banter and references between the two actors and characters in the past.

The trailer shows a brief glimpse of Wolverine, sporting his classic yellow and blue costume, as he confronts Deadpool at the end of the trailer.

The film is directed by Shawn Levy, who has worked with both Reynolds and Jackman before in films like Free Guy, The Adam Project, and Real Steel. The film is also rumored to feature Jennifer Garner as Elektra, another Marvel character who previously appeared in the Fox movies Daredevil and Elektra.

Release Date and More

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024, and will be the only MCU movie to be released this year. It will also be the first R-rated movie under the Disney banner, and will retain the signature humor and violence of the previous Deadpool films.

The film is expected to be a huge hit, and has broken the record for the most-viewed trailer of all time, surpassing Spider-Man: No Way Home’s viewership.
