A day in the life of glass 2 (Corning's view of the future)
Corning Glass the people behind the beautiful glass protection we see on the iPhone 4s among many other smartphones have released their second version of what they believe a day in the life of glass could look like.
Corning invented "Gorilla Glass" a super tough glass in the 60's but failed to find a market for it so stopped producing it altogether. Four decades later enter Steve Jobs in search of super strong glass for his iPhone that would resist scratches. He convinced Corning to start production once again and told them he would buy all the glass they could supply in the next 6 months - the rest is history.
If this is what we will be being seeing in the coming years then I can't wait!
