Apple to abandon Google Maps in upcoming iOS 6
Apple has been busy acquiring mapping companies in the last few years. They bought Placebase in 2009, Poly9 in 2010 and C3 Technologies last year.
And as the rivalry between Google and Apple continues to grow, All Things D is now reporting that Apple will finally let go of Google maps all together in favour of their own mapping solution and apparently, it's insanely great !
Apple has already abandoned Google for it's maps in iPhoto on iOS devices and we can expect them to announce their new maps technology in their keynote at the WWDC in June.
All Things D's sources have described the Maps as a tentpole of iOS 6 and that seeing it will "blow your head off".
It also seems that Apple has been working on updating iCloud and we can also expect to see Reminders and Notes as part of iCloud website soon.
