Apple held it's education event over night in New York's Guggenheim Museum in which they shook up the text book industry.
Apple (and the late Steve Jobs) has a long history in helping the education sector and by taking text books digital things will never be the same again. Phil Schiller hosted the event and introduced us to iBooks 2 in which text books will feature prominently making liberal use of video, animations, quizzes, gallery's and more.
This is the future, my daughter will carry one device to school with all of her text books loaded onto it. Even better the text books can be updated in real time whenever the author wishes.
On top of this Apple also unveiled 'iBooks Author" a free tool for creating any kind of book you wish with all of the interaction you would expect from Apple. It's as easy as using Keynote or even easier than using Powerpoint!
