Restoring deleted (or missing) purchases through iTunes.
Hope you all had a good Xmas, I did, I got another Apple TV for our bedroom (No, the wife was not impressed). It's because of this I discovered a hiccup and thought others out there might have come across the same thing. I downloaded a couple of TV shows to watch and then wanted to sync them to my iPhone through iTunes but alas they weren't showing in my library ?
Well here's the solution which also works for any songs (or most other media) you may have deleted and might be looking for.
Open up iTunes and click on "iTunes Store" on the left. On the front page your presented with a quick links section on the right (see above screenshot), click on Purchased and you're away. You'll be presented with a window with all the media you've bought sorted by Music, TV Show, Apps or Books. Any media that you do not currently have in your library will have a cloud symbol beside it indicating it's available as a free download.
Here's Apple's caveat on the service:
- Automatic Downloads for music and the downloading of past music purchases is currently only available in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, United States, and Venezuela. iOS 5 or later is required for iPhone 4 (CDMA Model).
- Downloading of past purchases is currently available for TV Shows in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, and United States only. iOS 5 or later is required for iPhone 4 (CDMA Model).
- Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer on the iTunes Store. Downloading past purchased TV Shows requires iTunes 10.3 or later.
