The new iPad launched in Australia today, the first country in the world to get it !
People have queued overnight at Apple stores all over the country and some Telstra & Optus stores opened at Midnight for those extra keen.
News.com.au is reporting that one US diehard fan actually bought a ticker from California to Melbourne to be amongst the first in the world to purchase the device:
“It’s 26 hours sooner than it’s coming out in the US,”
News.com.au's Gadget Girl has also taken the new iPad for a test drive and although it doesn't support Telstra's 4G network, it performed twice as fast as the iPad 2, thanks to it's support of 3G Dual Carrier HSPA
