Woolworths has dealt another blow to Canada's struggling Research in Motion dumping the BlackBerry in favour of Apple's iPhone 5.
The move is on the back of IBM Australia and Qantas also dumping BlackBerry. Last year US company Dell was yet another to replace more than 15,000 of it's dated BlackBerry devices.
Woolworths move is on the back of them also deploying more than 800 iPads to it's store managers to help them get out of the back office and interact more with staff and customers.
"We are not supporting the Blackberry platform," Chris Stanley, Woolworths head of customer technology said "...at the end of the day our customers decide what technology will be used"
