Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is the fifth installment in the iconic Ghostbusters franchise, and it promises to be a thrilling and hilarious adventure that will make you laugh, scream, and cheer.

The movie follows the Spengler family, who return to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

The movie features a stellar cast of old and new faces, including Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, alongside Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and William Atherton reprising their characters from the earlier films, while Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt also join the fun. The movie is directed by Gil Kenan, who co-wrote it with Jason Reitman, the son of the original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, who passed away in 2022.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a tribute to the legacy of Ivan Reitman and the 40th anniversary of Ghostbusters. It is also a celebration of the fans who have kept the spirit of the franchise alive for decades. The movie is packed with references, easter eggs, and surprises that will delight and amaze the loyal Ghostbusters fanbase. And of course, it also features the return of some of the most beloved and iconic ghosts from the series, such as Slimer, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and the Terror Dogs.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire hits cinemas in Australia March 21, 2024, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
